Randerana Cabs is a small car rental, self drive and tour business based at No#18 Bank Road, Badulla 90000, Sri Lanka. When this page says “we” or “us”, that is who we mean.

We believe your personal details are yours. We only ask for what we need to look after your booking, and we try to explain plainly what we do with it.

We only collect information you choose to give us, mainly through our booking forms, WhatsApp, email or phone:

• Contact details: your name, phone number and email address, so we can reply and confirm your booking.
• Trip details: dates, pick-up and drop-off places, the vehicle you want, how many days you need it and any notes you add, so we can prepare the right car or driver.
• Delivery address: only if you ask us to deliver a rental car to you.
• Licence and ID details: for self drive rentals we may ask to see your driving licence and your NIC or passport. This is to check that you are allowed to drive the vehicle you are renting.
• Messages and reviews: what you write to us, and any review you choose to publish on our site.

We do not collect card numbers on this website.

• To answer your questions and confirm, change or cancel a booking.
• To get the vehicle, the driver and the delivery ready on the right day.
• To keep a record of rentals, payments and any damage or fines, in case we need to refer to them later.
• To let you know about something that affects your trip, such as a delay or a change of vehicle.
• To keep our website safe, for example by filtering out spam and fake bookings.
• To understand how people use the site so that we can make it easier to use.

We do not send marketing messages unless you have asked for them, and we do not sell your details to anyone.

Your details are seen by the people at Randerana Cabs who handle bookings, and by the driver assigned to your trip when they need to know who to meet and where.

We also use a few outside services to run the business, such as our email provider, WhatsApp for messaging, and hosting for this website. These services only handle your information to do their job for us.

We may share information when the law requires it, for example if a government authority or the police formally ask for it, or when it is needed to deal with an accident, a fine or an insurance claim connected to your rental.

Our website remembers a few simple things in your browser, such as the currency you picked in the top bar, so you do not have to choose it again on every page.

We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to see which pages are popular and how visitors find us. These tools work with cookies and give us general figures, not your name or personal details. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site will still work.

We keep booking records for as long as we reasonably need them to run the business, handle questions or complaints about a rental, and meet our accounting and legal duties. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

We take sensible steps to protect your details: our admin area is protected by a login, access is limited to the people who need it, and we do not ask for sensitive information we do not need. No website or message service is ever completely risk-free, so please do not send us anything you would not want to share, such as bank passwords.

You can ask us at any time to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you,
• correct anything that is wrong,
• delete your details, unless we need to keep them for a legal or accounting reason, or
• stop contacting you for anything other than an existing booking.

Our website and rentals are meant for adults. If you travel with children, please give us only the details of the adult who is making the booking.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is a big one, we will make it clear on the website.
